miR-182 modulates myocardial hypertrophic response induced by angiogenesis in heart (MoGene)
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 8 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Gene 1.0 ST Array (mogene10st)

Description

Angiogenesis induced by placental growth factor (PlGF) in heart promotes myocardial hypertrophy through the paracrine action of endothelium-derived nitric oxide which triggers the degradation of RGS4 and subsequent the activation of Akt/mTORC1 pathway in cardiomyocytes. However, whether alterations in miRNAs contribute to the development of hypertrophy is largely undetermined.

Epididymal white adipose tissue expression data from WT and Abhd15-ko mice on normal chow diet at refed state
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 8 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Gene 2.1 ST Array (mogene21st)

Description

Abhd15 is mainly expressed in white adipose tissues and highly upregulated upon adipogenesis. Abhd15 expression is correlated with insulin resistance in obese humans, however its physiological function remains unknown. We used the microarray technology to gain insight into ABHD15s physiological function by identifying dysregulated genes in eWAT from Abhd15-ko mice in comparison to WT mice.

Publication Title

Loss of ABHD15 Impairs the Anti-lipolytic Action of Insulin by Altering PDE3B Stability and Contributes to Insulin Resistance.

RNA sequencing to determine gene expression changes in HMCES knockout cells
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 4 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina HiSeq 3000

Description

The purpose of this study was to deteremine gene expression changes in when HMCES is inactivated. We found very few changes. Overall design: Compare wild type and HMCES knockout U2OS cancer cells using RNA-seq.

RNA-Seq profiles of Drosophila melanogaster S3 cells treated with novel lipid storage inhibitors
  • organism-icon Drosophila melanogaster
  • sample-icon 35 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina HiSeq 2000

Description

We performed mRNA transcriptional profiling on Drosophila S3 cells after 4 hours treatment with novel lipid storage inhibitors belonging to three different chemotypes. Overall design: Profiling of RNA expression after treatment with three pairs of active/inactive compounds or DMSO as a control in triplicates and without treatment in the presence/absence of oleic acid in sextuplicate.

New candidate gene identification for controlling mammalian gonadal sex determination
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 11 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 Array (mouse4302)

Description

Mammalian gonadal sex determination is dependent on proper expression of sex determining genes in fetal gonadal somatic support cells (i.e., pre-granulosa and pre-Sertoli cells in XX and XY gonads, resp.). We used a unique transgenic mouse strain combined with microarray profiling to identify all the differentially expressed transcripts in XX and XY isolated somatic support cells during critical stages of gonadal development and differentiation.

New candidate genes identified for controlling mouse gonadal sex determination and the early stages of granulosa and Sertoli cell differentiation.

Gene expression profile in isolated E13 gonadal somatic support cells and E13 gonads.
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 8 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 Array (mouse4302)

Description

Gonadal sex determining (GSD) genes that initiate fetal ovarian and testicular development and differentiation are expressed in the cells of the urogenital ridge that differentiate as somatic support cells (SSCs), i.e., granulosa cells of the ovary and Sertoli cells of the testis. To identify potential new mammalian GSD genes, we analyzed the gene expression differences between XX and XY SSCs cells isolated from the gonads of embryonic day (E) 13 mouse fetuses carrying an EGFP reporter transgene expressed specifically in SSCs. In addition, genome wide expression differences between XX and XY E13 whole gonads were examined. Newly identified differentially expressed transcripts are potential GSD genes involved in unexplained human sex reversal cases.

Publication Title

Transcriptional profile of mouse pre-granulosa and Sertoli cells isolated from early-differentiated fetal gonads.
